The USS Shenandoah

Tales Of Southeastern Ohio is proud to present our video feature about the US Navy Airship USS Shenandoah. The Shenandoah crashed in southeastern Ohio during a thunderstorm back in Sept. of 1925. The crash is almost a forgotten piece of our state and national history.

"Airplane Hollow"

Here is the 2nd new HD video for "Tales Of Southeastern Ohio". This is part 1 of our video "Airplane Hollow". For years there have been rumors and stories about this area located between Carbon Hill and New Straitsville in southeastern Ohio. In part 1 of this video we look at the incident itself based on the best information that we could find in old newspaper articles and online records. We have also included some aerial footage of the area along with footage at the scene itself. Note: Please notice the dramatic lighting changes that occur around me in the video caused by the passing of clouds over the area on the day that we shot that video segment.A 2nd video is in work to follow up on other aspects of the story of "Airplane Hollow".

"Steel Rails"

This Dave Norris penned song serves as the backdrop for a look at the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad's 1920 Baldwin steam locomotive operating out of Nelsonville, Ohio. This is the first of a series of planned videos that will take a look at the stories, legends and lore ofsoutheastern Ohio and will also offer a look and listen to the region's sights, sounds and music!
